Exploring Sustainable Agriculture: Boquete Field Study

Welcome to The Creating Center’s blog, where we share remarkable educational experiences. In this blog post, we invite you to join us on our Boquete Field Study, specifically focusing on our visit to La Granjerita farm. Discover the invaluable lessons and insights we gained about sustainable agriculture practices and their direct impact on nurturing our school garden.

During our Boquete Field Study, we embarked on a captivating journey to La Granjerita farm. Led by our knowledgeable guide, Lourdes, we delved into the world of sustainable agriculture and the essential practices involved in cultivating and caring for plants. Our primary objective was to acquire knowledge that would contribute to the growth and success of our very own school garden.

Learning from Lourdes’ Expertise:

Lourdes, a remarkable host, graciously shared her expertise and answered our questions with enthusiasm. She guided us through the farm, offering valuable insights into soil preparation, organic fertilizers, crop rotation, and pest control methods. We were inspired by her passion for sustainable agriculture and gained practical knowledge that we could apply to our own garden at The Creating Center.

Our visit to La Granjerita farm wasn’t limited to theoretical learning. We had the unique opportunity to roll up our sleeves and actively participate in tending to various crops. From sowing seeds to nurturing young plants, we experienced the satisfaction and responsibility that comes with caring for a living ecosystem. This hands-on experience reinforced our connection to nature and highlighted the importance of sustainable practices.

As we bid farewell to La Granjerita farm, we carried with us a wealth of knowledge and a deeper understanding of sustainable agriculture. Equipped with newfound insights, we returned to The Creating Center determined to apply what we learned to our own school garden. With each seed planted and each plant nurtured, we fostered growth, environmental stewardship, and a sense of accomplishment.
