At The Creating Center, we recently celebrated the culmination of a remarkable school year with an end-of-year show. Our talented students, under the guidance of music teacher Zé, and all our classroom teachers, took center stage to perform the musical they created throughout their music classes. This captivating event showcased their creativity, passion, and the incredible progress they made throughout the year.
Unveiling the Saga: From the Sahara Desert to Mystical Caves
In this musical odyssey, the performance begins in the heart of the Sahara desert, where our learners from Early Years 2 captivated the audience as dancing cacti. Then our protagonist, Said, embarks on a transformative quest, venturing into a mystical cave that comes to life with the fluttering presence of dancing bats, skillfully portrayed by our Pre-K students.
Emerging from the cave’s depths, Said’s journey continues as he encounters a loving family of elephants, skillfully portrayed by our students. Together, they embark on an adventure that leads them to a majestic baobab tree, serving as a meeting point with a spirited girl, Imani, who becomes his loyal companion on this enchanting expedition.
As Said and Imani embark on their adventure, they arrive in a little town and seek refuge in a humble hut, only to encounter an evil lion and crocodile. Displaying resilience and resourcefulness, the children outsmart these treacherous foes, escaping their clutches and finding themselves aboard a ship bound for new horizons.
Tropical Enchantment: Guided by Wisdom and Treasure Awaits
The ship docks in a lush tropical jungle, immersing the audience in Panama’s vibrant landscapes. Amidst this paradise, Said and his companions encounter a girl from the Ngobe tribe named Ayana, who introduces them to a wise mentor. Guided by the wisdom of their newfound friend, they embark on a quest to unearth a hidden treasure, discovering the transformative power of friendship, music, and the pursuit of dreams.
“A Treasure in the Sand” showcases the extraordinary talents of our students. Guided by our teachers, they created not only the music and the lyrics to all the songs, but also the entire script of the play! We were so proud to witness this great accomplishment.
