Marilú has almost 30 years of experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors working in the areas of human and social development. She has been a teacher, mentor, facilitator, and director of educational programs. She served as the National Director of Education for the Ministry of Education of Panama and led the “Aprende Al Máximo” Program, a national movement for the improvement of educational quality with equity. She has always encouraged initiatives to improve educational quality with equity. And as a ‘Faithful defender of the rights of ALL children to quality education’ - her descriptive phrase from her twitter account - she took advantage of ‘the pandemic’ to start The Creating Center. With all the skills and knowledge gained in her professional life, she began to ground all the ideas and concepts that she had learned and developed throughout her career, trying to find a different educational model that was capable of taking the best of the traditional and perfecting it through a philosophy that promotes learning through creativity. Thus The Creating Center was born, an educational center that proposes a new way of seeing education through an alternative method. “I have always thought that many of the things that are done within the educational system sometimes do not make sense. She has a Master's degree in educational administration, curriculum development, and policy studies from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
